Improv

LD Madera is a seasoned improviser known for his electric stage presence, sharp wit, and ability to create unforgettable moments.

LD has been a theater kid all of his life.  During his childhood, the one thing he knew for certain was that he loved to entertain.  Whether is was singing a song at his First Communion, turning a book report into a comedy sketch, or even singing Jon Secada songs in class (yes, I actually did that!), LD had a love for putting on a show and entertaining everyone.  During his teenage years, LD performed with Coconut Grove Children's Theater under the direction of his mentor Corky Dozier.  It was during this time that his skills as a performer and his enthusiasm for theater began to take shape. LD later attended Barry University, where he graduated with a BA in Arts focusing on Theater.

LD's improv journey began as a cast member at Just The Funny, Miami’s longest-running improv theater, where he is still actively engaged as a cast member, director, and instructor.  For over 20 years, LD has honed his skills in improv, and has been able to learn from some of the best improvisers from such well-known institutions like Second City, iO, Annoyance Theater, and UCB. His performances are a testament to the transformative power of spontaneity and connection, leaving audiences both entertained and inspired.  As a dedicated member of the improv community, LD is passionate about fostering creativity and inclusivity on and off the stage. He has contributed to countless sold-out shows, workshops, and family-friendly events, earning him recognition as a top-tier performer and collaborator.
